10th Hole
Par 4
Stroke Index: Ladies 18, Men 18
A real gem of a hole. Go for the green or take an iron for safety - those are your options, only you can decide. The green, especially with the hole on the left, can leave some very interesting putts.

Purple: 282 yards
White: 295 yards
Green: 301 yards
Pro Advice
What a great little hole. My advice would be to play it safe, but if you are confident with your driving, give it a go. Aim at the left side of the green as everything slopes to the right.
11th Hole
Par 5 (Ladies), 5 (Men)
Stroke Index: Ladies 6, Men 6
From the tee all you can see is the bunker in the distance, but what you don't appreciate is how much the hole swings to the right. The bunker is a good aiming point unless you are a long hitter. In which case, you will be wanting to cut one around the dogleg, or hit over the edge of the wood. A cleverly sited ancient dewpond, known as the sheep-dip, provides real risk and reward qualities on this great shot par five.
Tees and Yards
Black: 384 yards
Purple: 473 yards
White: 478 yards
Green: 484 yards
Pro Advice
Provided you are successful with your drive, a long second down the left will get you home, but beware the partially hidden bunker set a few yards short of the green on the left. For this reason, you may like to play a running draw.
12th Hole
Par 5
Stroke Index: Ladies 10, Men 6
Despite it being a long hole, the 12th is one of the most testing tee shots on the course. Everything runs down towards the pond on the left side of the fairway, so keep the drive as close to the wood on the right as you dare. From the fairway, the green can be within reach but once again greenside bunkers and the stream on the left can give cause for concern. Still a good opportunity for the bold player.
Tees and Yards
Black: 453 yards
Purple: 491 yards
White: 519 yards
Green: 544 yards
Pro Advice
If you do get the drive away and are looking for the green, allow a bit of room up the right on your second as the natural slope to the fairway can often skirt your ball close to the bunker and feed it onto the grass.
13th Hole
Par 3
Stroke Index: Ladies 14, Men 16
A natural short hole set in the woods. Hit down the left side with a bit of fade and the ball will normally follow the contours of the land onto the green. You can aim directly over the bunkers if the flag is cut on the right side but beware the drainage ditch just beyond the green on that side.
Tees and Yards
Black: 159 yards
Purple: 164 yards
White: 177 yards
Green: 201 yards
Pro Advice
The 13th green is very large but for Cumberwell is surprsingly flat. It doesn't matter where you are, the putt will nearly always be straight.
14th Hole
Par 4
Stroke Index: Ladies 4, Men 2
A beautifully picturesque hole. The key is to get as close to the lake as you dare on the tee shot so as to open up the green for a short medium iron second. Mind the flag cut on the back left side of the green as it is well protected by a partially hidden bunker.
Tees and Yards
Black: 323 yards
Purple: 358 yards
White: 365 yards
Green: 379 yards
Pro Advice
Some will be tempted to reach for the driver on the tee, but this severely reduces the aiming point down to a thin strip of fairway between the lake on the right and the mounds on the left. Give it a go if you are feeling confident, but don't say I didn't warn you!

16th Hole
Par 3
Stroke Index: Ladies 16, Men 12
A feature hole at Cumberwell. This delightful, downhill par three is played over a lake that guards both the front and left side of the green.
Tees and Yards
Black: 114 yards
Purple: 142 yards
White: 161 yards
Green: 169 yards
Pro Advice
If the flag is on the left, don't even think about going for it. Aim for the middle of the green and get a safe par. You have still got to stay committed though, as half hit shots are swimming.
17th Hole
Par 4
Stroke Index: Ladies 12, Men 14
Another tricky short four. From the green tee it is one of the most daunting drives in the south west. However, further forward it can offer a birdie opportunity. Beware the stream that meanders down the right side of the entire hole.
Tees and Yards
Black: 262 yards
Purple: 283 yards
White: 302 yards
Green: 350 yards
Pro Advice
From the tee this par four looks very narrow. However, the longer you hit your drive, the more room there is. The greenside bunker is severe so don't try and get to cute with your pitch in.
18th Hole
Par 4
Stroke Index: Ladies 2, Men 4
Seven bunkers up the right side of this hole dictate strategy. With the wind usually blowing in from the right, aiming at the bunkers and allowing it to drift back onto the fairway is often the best play. If you are finishing your round here and make a par, you have done well.
Tees and Yards
Black: 329 yards
Purple: 341 yards
White: 359 yards
Green: 371 yards
Pro Advice
A drive up the left opens up the green but that means skirting close to the out of bounds line. Always take an extra club for your approach as this uphill shot can be deceptively long.
